Great video.
Thanks Shannon.
There once was a record by Gladys Knight
Which at the end she states these words not sings them .
‘ That someday these will be the good old days’
So throughout my years this statement has given me comfort.
I remember spending 1968, a year that there has been movies, books, articles writing about, as a scared junior in college wondering if next year I was going get shipped off to some foreign country instead of going to start my career. It started with the Teti Offense , three movements social, women’s, and the war, two assassinations , numerous cities set a blaze , and the beating of young people at the Democratic Convention .we survived, abd now many of us harken back to the GOOD OLD DAYS.
Thanks for sharing enjoy your vacation.
Brent- thank you for your comment and perspective. You certainly have lived through some of our nation’s most tumultuous times. Thanks again!
There is also Bob Dylan’s song — The Times they are a changin’. There is nothing new under the sun but as we all know with time comes change.
(What that change is we don’t know. Our little industry even kinda. sorta knew Refis would not be as flourishing as they were last fiscal but few prepared for a change of this magnitude. As an industry we took no heed.)
What two assassinations does Brent speak of during the sixties? Three decades ago my wife and I stood in the parking lot of the Lorraine Motel wondering why. Yet I was no fan of the man we honor next month but rather of what he and others fought and even were murdered over. I have often wanted to see the home where Medgar Evers was gunned down.
I could go on but will stop here. Appreciate what you have today because soon it too will. be gone.
