The source of the January 2014 comment is wrong. The endorsement total for that month was 5,061 which been surpassed several times after January 2014. March 2011 had 7,306 endorsements which reigns as the most recent month of HECM endorsement totals that exceed those of January 2018.

This is also the highest endorsement total for any January since January 2011 when it was 6,452.
