  3. As many of you know I oppose being overly optimistic and am combative by nature. Being right while taking it out on others is not the best approach even though I am strongly Irish and Scottish. As my wife reminds me, it would have gotten me shot in Jolly Ol’ England back before the American Revolution.

    The approach Shannon is recommending will not always work but it works enough that it has merit. As a salesperson selling a somewhat controversial product plays on the wrong side of me but that is what is so effective about the question approach. It can be very powerful.

    Very nice presentation, Shannon. Your practical advice is normally as in this case without competition.
