  1. In 2005, I arrived at the appointed time. The alpha daughter called us the night before and told us to be on time since she was flying down from Sacramento (to LA).

When we got there everyone was there but the alpha daughter. It turned out her ticket showed an arrival time of 40 minutes after the start of the meeting.

The alpha daughter arrived ready to shut down the meeting, raise her objections, get a vote from her siblings, and fly home in time to pick up her kids from school. When asked if the meeting should be delayed, she said that her plans left more than enough time to do what needed to be done. In fact she scolded me when I started answering a question from another sibling as that was taking time she needed with her father before going back home.
